If anything good has come out of being stuck in my house 24/7, it’s all the new-found time to try new recipes I now have. Lately, I’ve been loving two smoothies, and I probably make them at least every other day. They are super simple, super clean, and super delicious, so I’m spreading the word. Enjoy!
Piña Colada Smoothie

Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 1/2 cup coconut water
- 1/2 cup frozen pineapple
- 1 frozen banana
Vanilla Cake Smoothie

Ingredients:
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 tbs nut butter (I use almond butter)
- 1 cup almond milk (may vary depending on the protein powder you use; follow those instructions primarily)
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- vanilla protein powder
- 1/2 cup ice
Blend it all together and there you have it. Personally, I’m huge fan of my KitchenAid hand blender because it’s less of a mess to clean up later compared to a full-blown blender.
Don’t be afraid to change the recipes up to meet your liking! Remember, in general, adding more ice will give you a thicker consistency and adding more liquid will thin it out. If you find your smoothie isn’t quite how you like it, just add a little ice or water.
I’ve also found that shaking up the proportions of milk to water in the Pina Colada smoothie can be very rewarding. If you like a stronger coconut taste with a creamier base, put in a little more coconut milk and a little less coconut water. The liquids should still add up to 1 cup, but they won’t be equal parts.
If you follow these recipes, you’ll generally end up with 1-2 servings. Sometimes I down the whole thing– especially if I’ve just worked out– but I also love splitting them with someone else.
Have fun!
I’m going to try this thanks!
